Every year, either two (2) or three (3) Trustee positions are on the General Election Ballot. In 2024, there are three (3) positions coming up for election. The three candidates with the highest number of votes will serve as Trustees.

Election Day this year will be Tuesday, November 5th. Eligible candidates must file a notarized application at the library, 15001 Wells Port, between 10am on Saturday, July 20th and 5pm (not closing) on Monday, August 19th to be listed on the ballot. Applications received outside this window cannot be accepted.

To be eligible, you must be registered to vote within the Library District boundaries. Most of 78728 that falls within Travis County is in the district, but not all. The District is governed by a Board of five members that serve staggered four year terms. The District’s next Director election will be held on November 5, 2024 at the polling places for each election precinct within the District established by Travis County and Williamson County. A person that desires to be a candidate in the District’s next Director election must be qualified to serve as a Director and must timely submit an application for a place on the ballot to the District. To be qualified to serve as a Director, a person must be at least 18 years old, a resident citizen of the State of Texas, and either own land subject to taxation in the District or be a qualified voter within the District. For the November 5, 2024 Director election, the deadline for filing the application for a place on the ballot will be 5pm on Monday, August 19, 2024, and the deadline for a declared write-in candidate to file an application will be 5pm on Friday, August 23, 2024. Places 2 and 4 will be on the ballot with both incumbents, Moises Solis and Jon Klekman, seeking re-election. You must specify which Place you are seeking when filing your application.
