Is Austin Running Out Of Water? What Can We Do?

Please join us for an important panel discussion on the hot topic of local water resources and conservation, sponsored by St. Andrews’s Presbyterian Church. There will be three subject matter panelists along with several vendor tables with additional information. Do not miss this critical conversation.
State Representative James Talarico will present questions to the panel of water experts listed below on Austin’s future water situation, plans to cope with shortages and ways for us to conserve water. Be sure to view vendor exhibits in church lobby before and after program.
Panelists:
Christopher Charles – Conservation Program Coordinator, Water Conservation Division, Austin Water. Chris is an expert on many aspects of water conservation including xeriscapes, drought-resistant plants and ways to use less water.
Brigid Shea – Commissioner, Travis County Commissioners Court. Brigid has been a force of nature on Texas environmental issues for decades. Her many accomplishments include saving Barton Springs.
Todd Votteler – Editor-in-Chief, Texas Water Journal; Principal, Collaborative Water Resolution LLC. Todd has a broad understanding of Texas water issues. In 2016, he negotiated an agreement between The Aransas Project and the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority resolving a conflict over water use and potential impacts to endangered whooping cranes.
