Happy Holidays from the WBNA!
The holidays are right around the corner. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating these wonderful Wells Branch traditions. Reach out to new folks so they feel welcome. Take time to reconnect with family, friends and neighbors.
We look forward to seeing each of you at the festivities!
Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner
Saturday, November 23 • 6:00-8:00pm
WB Rec. Center • 3000 Shoreline
Wells Branch neighbors, you’re invited to bring a prepared covered dish or dessert to share and spend the evening among family and friends. Enjoy a Thanksgiving meal and exchange memories while creating new ones. It’s a long-standing tradition in Wells Branch you won’t want to miss. Turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, and beverages will be provided by the WB MUD. Hosted by the WB MUD Parks & Rec. Dept.
WBNA Holiday Trail of Lights
Get ready to be dazzled by dynamic holiday lighting in traditional Wells Branch style. To keep the momentum going from the Halloween Dragon Trail, the annual WBNA Holiday Trail of Lights kicks off the season of joy while sharing community pride.
The WBNA team has decided to move away from the contest format this year and encourages every family to participate in the WBNA Holiday Trail of Lights. Using a similar Google Map format we’ll post nominated addresses that will be shared with the group. We will make every effort to update the interactive map 3-4 times a week. We highly recommend loading the kiddos and pets in the car, crank up the holiday music and stock up on hot chocolate and cookies. Check the WBNA Facebook page or wbna.us for the trail map. Email your favorite addresses to: lights@wbna.us
Wells Branch Luminary Fest
Friday & Saturday, December 13 & 14 6:00-9:00pm
WB Community Center, the WB Homestead & KF Park • 2106 Klattenhoff
Savor the warm glow of the holidays as our trails twinkle with over 1500 traditional paper luminaries around Katherine Fleischer Park. The WB MUD Luminary Festival is a unique
community tradition for the entire family! Join us Friday and Saturday evening and witness the park come alive with holiday lights.
Hop on a caroling hayride or walk down the lighted trails for an up-close experience of the luminaries. Santa will be making a special appearance and setting up shop inside the Homestead to greet children and families. Photo ops will be provided. While you wait to meet Santa, children are welcome to participate in a traditional homestead holiday activity with Curator, Gwendolyn Johnson, or make a craft.
Be sure to stop by the Community Center to warm up! The WB MUD will have holiday elves on hand serving up delicious hot chocolate and cookies. Both kids and parents will share in the holiday spirit creating seasonal crafts on Friday and Saturday evenings, compliments of the Wells Branch Neighborhood Association. The WB Friends of the Library (FOL) team will offer holiday tattoos and the WBNA Calendar will be on sale—a great holiday gift! Look for a special treat on Saturday night with festive seasonal entertainment.
The WBNA will be collecting non-perishable food items for St. Andrew’s Food Pantry inside the Community Center. Your donations are appreciated.
Lighting the Luminaries – are you ready to help? The WB MUD invites you and your family to join our community in helping to light (and re-light) the luminary candles on Friday and Saturday at 3:30pm. The MUD will have lighters on hand, but please feel free to bring your own long lighter. On Saturday, meet in the KF parking lot to receive the new candles. Wagons are encouraged to help carry candles along the trail. Sponsored by WB MUD Parks & Rec. Dept.
We’ll see you there!
