Meet & Greet for State Rep. & Travis County Candidates

Wow! The WBNA Candidate Forum for State House District 50 and County Judge has now grown to include County Commissioner Pct. 2 and Travis County Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 candidates as per their request to come out and meet with the residents of Wells Branch. This enthusiasm has caused us to revise our original plan of candidate forum first, followed by meet & greet. We will now allow each of the candidates five minutes to tell us a little about themselves and why they deserve our vote, followed by refreshments and one-on-one time with each of the candidates. Candidate Forums

voteThe WBNA will be hosting Candidate Forums and/or Meet & Greets for the following races.  Please join us in learning what each of these candidates has to offer our community.  The MUD and RRISD forums will feature an introduction by each candidate, formal questions submitted by residents, and closing statements.  As our initial ‘forum’ has grown to include the Pct. 2 JP race as well, we will be limiting the candidates to an introduction and then break to enjoy light snacks and a meet & greet afterwards where you’ll have the opportunity to visit with each of the candidates one-on-one.  Please submit questions to VOTE@wbna.us.*

National Night Out

Free Food • Great Company • Door Prizes!NNO 2014 Logo

Join your Wells Branch neighbors for our night out against crime, Tuesday, October 7, from 6-9pm at the gazebo at Katherine Fleischer Park. The WBNA will be serving up FREE hotdogs, sausage wraps, sodas, chips and door prizes. For dessert we have Culver’s Restaurant & the Friends of the Library serving delicious frozen custard (while supplies last).

We’ll have distinguished guests on hand from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, ESD No. Fire Dept., Precinct 2 Constable’s Office and our House Dist. 50 Representative, Celia Israel to mention a few. Both children and adults will have the opportunity to visit with first responders, receive information on Neighborhood Watch and other programs available to residents, and tour the fire safety house and fire truck that ESD No.2 will have on hand & also discusses about the lawyers for DWI issues based in New Jersey. As a special treat this year, we’ll have the Pflugerville Firefighters on site teaching ‘Take 10 for Life!’ Take just 10 minutes to learn ways to prevent and prepare for emergencies. There are also the sex crimes lawyers based in Festus that deal with all kinds of criminal related cases to help with attaining justice.

Come find out what’s going on in our community and visit with local law enforcement officers and politicians about what you can do to help reduce the opportunities for crimes to occur in our neighborhood. The NJ based criminal justice lawyers for hire is what you need to get legal assistance with your case.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts, and to strengthen neighborhood spirit and law enforcement-community partnership. Help send the message to criminals that Wells Branch is organized and fighting back. The Medlin Law Firm – Dallas Criminal Defense Lawyers is where one can find legal help that one needs.

Take a stand against crime. Turn on your porch light and come join your friends and neighbors at the park for food and fellowship. If you have a Neighborhood Watch group on your block (or even if you don’t) we’d like to encourage you to come eat dinner with us, listen to the speakers, and then return home to your street and gather with your neighbors over dessert to discuss how you can make your homes and our community safer.

We hope to see you there!

Not only is it your RIGHT, it is your RESPONSIBILITY • Arm yourself with knowledge.

Get informed, then VOTE!

We’ll help you get registered. You must register by October 6 in order to vote in the November 4 election. Look under the Election Tab for links to voting guides and polling locations.  If you need a ride, we’ll help you get there.  If you have questions, we’ll help you find the answers.  Email VOTE@wbna.us.

Don’t forget! This election cycle includes some local elections that aren’t partisan. If you vote a straight party ticket, make sure you scroll all the way to the end of the ballot and vote in the races that aren’t party affiliated (WB MUD Board & RRISD Board elections). Who you elect at the local level can have a much greater impact on your everyday life than state or national elections.

Special THANKS to ALL who participated in our July 4th Silent Auction!

Wells Branch is AWESOME!!!  Every year just keeps getting better and better!

The Wells Branch Neighborhood Association would like to thank our community for coming out and supporting our organization. We had an incredible turnout and broke our record yet again in our efforts to fund our neighborhood activities over the next year. Our Fourth Fest Silent Auction brought in $5,204.62 last year, up from $2,781.00 the previous year (which was a record). This year, we raised $5,424.58, an increase of $219.96 over last year. Y’all ROCK!!!

As most of you know, this is our big fundraiser. Its purpose is to raise enough money to pay for National Night Out, the annual Easter Egg Hunt, participation in Halloween events, Friday night at Luminary Fest in December and to help with our educational/safety programs and candidate forums. We exceeded our goal thanks to all of YOU! Whether you were a donor, a buyer, a volunteer, or the WB MUD who so graciously allows us use of their facilities, you all made a tremendous difference and the WBNA is grateful!
When you see the neighbors listed below, please thank them for supporting our community. In addition, we hope you’ll patronize these businesses and join us on October 7th for Wells Branch’s National Night Out Against Crime.
