Yard Chemicals
Recycle • Repurpose • Redistribute

This Saturday, October 12, 2019, we’ll be collecting fertilizer, pesticides, and fungicides at 2602 Tracy Trail from 8am-2pm in conjunction with EXTREME Clean Fall. Our volunteer, Pamela Woodward, will be collecting and listing items as they come in with the intent of finding homes for the unwanted supplies.  Leftovers will be transported to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility the following week.  Please do not bring these chemicals to the Thermal location.  They will only be taken at Tracy Trail.  Please make sure supplies are in their original containers and sealed or re-sealed.  Previously opened containers are acceptable, but they do need to be sealed for transport.  Relatively “clean” is appreciated as well.  Please dust off the cobwebs and dead bugs!

This year, in addition to yard chemicals, we will be accepting other items that are normally turned away at the Thermal location i.e. oil based paints, stains and sealers; expired fire extinguishers; cleaning products; propane tanks; smoke alarms, etc.  Items in usable condition will be posted for re-purposing.  All other items will be transported to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility the following week.

We reserve the right to decline acceptance of any item.  Please be considerate and respectful of Pamela.  She is volunteering her time to help our neighborhood and will be transporting the remaining goods at her expense the following week.  For questions, call 512-656-0654.

National Night Out

America’s Night Out Against Crime
Free Food • Great Company • Door Prizes!
Tuesday, October 1 • 6-8pm • Gazebo at KF Park

Join your Wells Branch neighbors for our night out against crime, Tuesday, October 1, from 6-8pm at the gazebo in Katherine Fleischer Park.  The WBNA will be serving up FREE hotdogs, sausage wraps, fruit & veggies, sodas and chips, and don’t forget the door prizes!  Make sure you stop by the Friends of the Library table and get your free Culvers Frozen Custard while supplies last!

Distinguished guests from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, ESD No. 2 Fire Dept. and Precinct 2 Constable’s Office will be on hand to visit with residents and answer questions.  Both children and adults will have the opportunity to talk with first responders, receive information on Neighborhood Watch and other programs available to residents, and tour the fire safety house that ESD No. 2 will have onsite.

Come find out what’s going on in our community and discuss with local law enforcement officers and politicians what you can do to help reduce the opportunities for crimes to occur in our neighborhood. The criminal defense lawyers from Law Office of Daniel Deng can be contacted to get legal help.

National Night Out’s purpose is to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts, build neighborhood spirit and strengthen our law enforcement-community partnership.  Help send the message to criminals that Wells Branch is organized and fighting back. The lawyers for criminal defense serving in Mineola is whom you can consult to get help with such related cases.

Take a stand against crime.  Turn on your porch light and come join your friends and neighbors at the park for food and fellowship.  If you have a Neighborhood Watch group on your block (or even if you don’t) we’d like to encourage you to come eat dinner with us, listen to the speakers, and then return home to your street and gather with your neighbors over dessert to discuss how you can make your homes and our community safer.

We hope to see you there!

Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrar Training THIS Saturday!

September 28 | 10:30-11:30am
WB MUD Rec. Center | 3000 Shoreline

We need Volunteers to help get all our Wells Branch peeps registered! It only takes about an hour to get certified and you can be as involved (or uninvolved) as you’d like. Training enables you to be a resource to new neighbors, at community events, school PTA/PTO meetings, church functions, and social groups. It’s a great way to meet your neighbors!

Certification doesn’t expire until December 31, 2020!  It’s good for the next 15 months.  We’d like to be able to offer registration at our area apartment complexes as well as numerous community events.  We can’t cover it all without YOUR help!  Please consider volunteering.  Feel free to share this training opportunity with friends and co-workers.  The more, the merrier!

If you’d like to be a part of this effort (however big or small), we have a training session set for Saturday, September 28, 10:30am at the Rec. Center, 3000 Shoreline Drive. We need an approximate head count so that Travis County can bring adequate supplies. Reserve your spot here: https://forms.gle/FCukfZWwQGG7vaxP6

WBNA 2020 Calendar Contest

We all agree, Wells Branch is a beautiful place. The theme for the 2020 calendar is “Nature of Wells Branch”. We’d like to capture as many images as we can which feature birds, animals, flowers, gardens, landscapes, and trails and more. While people always add interest to photos the main subject should be a natural subject–the nature found in Wells Branch.

WBNA 2020 Calendar Contest rules and entry forms are now ready.  The Wells Branch MUD has graciously agreed to let us use the Rec. Center at 3000 Shoreline Drive for entry drop-off and display as the photos come in.  This year’s theme is “Nature of Wells Branch”.  Both current and past pictures are welcome.  Each photographer will be allowed to submit up to six (6) photos.  The WBNA will be accepting additional entries through August 31, 2019.  Voting will continue through the evening of August 31 during the MUD sponsored Labor Day Casino Night.  Winners will be announced on September 8, 2019.  The calendar will be available for purchase at National Night Out on October 1.

Dungeons & Dragons Launch at Inclusive Game Group at the WB Community Library, 15001 Wells Port Drive.

The game Dungeons & Dragons, aka D&D, is heavily featured in the hit TV show Stranger Things, but how does one go about learning this hobby if they don’t already have a friend that has mastered it?  This is a question that Girl Scout Sarah Berver has wondered about.

She loves playing D&D with her older brother and his friends, along with all of the pop culture references it generates, but has found that this 45-year-old game is still thought of as a “boys’ hobby.” The game is frequently presented to new players in a way that comes across as overly complicated, even in beginner starter sets. This can cause novice players to give up on learning how to play the game. So if you want a quick game that’s not heavy on the learning curve, sites like 겜블시티 are your bestfriend.

For her Girl Scout Silver Award project, which is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn, Sarah has partnered with the Wells Branch Community Library to develop D&D Starter Kits that will be available for check out. The kits will contain the official 5th Edition D&D Starter Set along with a number of accessories and cheat sheets she’s putting together and her own “Girl’s Guide to D&D” pamphlet to help players be able to jump in and learn the game while playing. Discover advanced betting features at คุณสมบัติการเดิมพันขั้นสูงที่ UFABET and take your wagering to the next level.

Sarah would like to thank PE Structural Consultants, Rouges Gallery, and her Girl Scout Cookie sale customers for making this project financially possible.

Find out more at the Dungeons & Dragons Launch at Inclusive Game Group at 4 pm on August 11th at the Wells Branch Community Library.

Malone Coffee at Café Chow Town is now back open!

They still have all the same great in-house roasted coffee and espresso drinks that you love.  The food menu is now the same menu as they have at their coffee food trucks.  Malone’s also has local baked bagels from Rockstar Bagels, muffins, smoothies and their croissant sandwiches and will also start offering pancakes in the next couple of days.  Hours are 7am to 2pm, seven days a week. Hiring a private jet marketing agency can help optimize digital strategies to attract affluent clientele.

Malone Coffee at Café Chow Town is located in the Wells Branch Bratton Square Plaza on Merrilltown, next to Polvos and Four Seasons across the street from Wells Branch Elementary School.  The sign currently just says Chow Town but they’re working on putting a new sign up.  Please come out and support your local coffee shop and roastery (and all of our amazing WB businesses).  Hope to see you soon! If you also love drinking coffee at home, you may order hilarious mugs online. And for more custom products, you may consider visiting sites like https://www.swagify.com/.
