Hey Wonderful Neighbors of WB,

The WBNA has asked me to chair the Fourth Fest Silent Auction this year and, while it’s a huge undertaking, it’s for a great cause! This is the neighborhood association’s ONLY fundraiser and all the money raised goes back into the community for National Night Out, the Easter Egg Hunt, WBNA participation at Halloween and Luminary Fest, safety seminars and educational events.

We are in the final stretch, most of the work has been done,

AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are seeking donations of merchandise, gift cards/certificates, theme baskets, services…. to auction. In return, you receive exposure for your business at the auction, a special “Thank You” section in the September issue of the WBNA Neighborhood News and on our website and Facebook page with links to your site.

All donations need to be in by June 30th so we can wrap baskets that night, get bid sheets printed, get the companies’ logos and donations printed and framed…etc. So much to do!

If you have items or services to donate, would like to volunteer to help collect items or services or if you are able to volunteer to work a few hours at the auction, please email me directly at marketingimpress@austin.rr.com Thank you in advance for helping to keep Wells Branch GREAT!

Star Bar - Mixed

Order Rain Barrels by June 13th for June 20th pick-up!

The Wells Branch MUD and a local manufacturer, Senox, have partnered to bring you good prices on rain barrels that will be delivered right here to the neighborhood for easy pick up.

Rain Barrels 3There are four different sizes of barrels (click on gallon size for info), a 50-gallon, flat back barrel style (available in 6 colors), a 54-gallon completely round barrel (3 colors to choose from) and a really rugged barrel with internal lining to keep things dark: this one comes in 28 colors and two sizes (100 and 250 gallon).  These last two are definitely tanks for the backyard.

Legislative Update from Celia Israel, State Representative, HD-50

Fellow Texans,

I feel like Dorothy – back from the land of Oz . Only my Oz was the Texas House of Representatives. While there weren’t any REAL flying monkeys – there were definitely challenges. I resisted the temptation to drop a house on top of some of those who disagreed with me, and I opted for the more reasonable solution: work across party lines to get stuff done.

ruby slippersThis was my first session as a member of the Texas House. We had 140 days to get as much done as possible. Thanks to my staff who prepared well before and during session, I had 15 hearings, 6 bills passed through the Texas House and 4 bills sent to Governor Abbott.

Since session ended last week, I have already had a couple of visits with constituents and advocates. It felt really nice to be back among people who just want to know ‘what did you all just do?’

Read below to see our summary of what we just did. Thank you for caring about working towards a better Texas. Continue reading Legislative Update from Celia Israel, State Representative, HD-50

Inspiring Hope for those with RA and other Autoimmune Diseases

Friends-of-the-Wells-Branch-Library-Logo-(Outlines)-(extra-large)Autoimmune diseases are on the rise. The Friends of the Wells Branch Community Library is proud to sponsor this event.

Think powerfully … Think positively … As if every moment depends on it. Because it does. This the wisdom of Lora Tucker Kaasch, who will present her message of hope in honor of Arthritis Awareness Month.  Attendees will receive a copy of Lora’s eBook “Thrive with RA: Build Momentum and Create a Life You Love,” which is applicable to almost every chronic illness. If you’re suffering from tourettes syndrome, then you might also want to look into tourettes syndrome cannabis treatments here.  Having a positive mindset as well as nutrition and fitness tips will be introduced. Lora will also share her patient checklist which includes important questions to ask the doctor to ensure having an active role in the health care process. And if you are currently looking for a course that will fit your wants, then you may consider having a career in the medical industry. At physical-therapy-assistant.org you can compare the different types of physical therapist assistant careers and programs.

This free program will take place at the Wells Branch Library, 15001 Wells Port on May 31 at 3:30pm.  Use this link to register: http://hopewithra.eventbrite.com

Hope to see you there!
