Get ready for the 2020 Wells Branch Cultural Diversity Fair. The last “CDF” event was a huge success. Nearly 20 countries were represented and many booths offered a tasty sample of regional cuisine. The various cultural performers provided an amazing spectrum of song, dance, music, acrobatics and meditation techniques. There were also several learning activities, photo ops and international game demonstrations.

If you and your family attended this amazing cultural showcase in previous years, you probably came away thinking WOW!, all this fantastic cultural diversity and all right here within Wells Branch. Many folks have commented that this community event is a great way to learn about far away places without leaving Wells Branch and the participants were provided with an excellent opportunity to meet new folks in the community.

The key to any successful event comes down planning. The 2020 “CDF” is slated for February 23rd, from 1-4 pm. If you or your group would like to host a country booth or provide regional entertainment, just let us know. We have already received offers to host several countries. We need to finalize the list. Please follow this LINK to register for a booth.

The Wells Branch MUD, partnering with the WBNA and other community groups will help host the event. Each country booth will have reserved a banquet table, 1 chair and a $50 budget towards food preparation. There is also a special budget set aside for entertainment. Please reach out if you have a cultural entertain group that would like to participate.

Country sponsors are encouraged to have a “kid-friendly” activity, display or craft. The WB MUD would like to request that some sort of regional “water resource” information be available. And this year we are adding an exciting new feature, sponsored by the WB Friends of the Library and the WB Community Library—an “on the spot” language lab to the practice speaking some simple words in a foreign language. We are asking that each country sponsor provide a short list of words (phonetic breakdown), e.g. Hello, Welcome, Please, Thank You, etc.

Great community events are successful through great community interaction. Please consider helping to host a booth or activity at the 2020 Wells Branch Cultural Diversity Fair.
