Wells Branch Soccer Association Fall Update

By Jeff Navarro, WBSA President

We are in full swing of yet another great season of soccer in Wells Branch!

  • We have 3 teams that have moved up to the Division I level, the highest level for youth soccer!  This includes the Under 16 Boys Cougars team, the and the Under 11 and Under 12 WBSA-OWS Boys teams.  All three teams are competing well with the top teams in the South Texas area!  Congrats to these teams and their coaches!
  • WBSA is in its second season of offering free Friday Soccer Skills Clinics for all of our registered players and coaches!  These clinics are conducted by our training partner, One World Soccer led by Daniel Benito and his staff, and we’ve seen great attendance from our recreational teams so far.  We hope to continue to see rising attendance this Spring!
  • WBSA Board Members and Volunteers – WBSA is a completely volunteer led organization, and all of our board members, standing committee members, the people lining the fields every week, the people “taking care” of the ants on our fields, and the officer-of-the-day for each home game every week, are the volunteer labor force that make youth soccer in Wells Branch possible.  WBSA would like to recognize and salute all of our volunteers!  WBSA is grateful for their efforts in providing the children of Wells Branch a safe and convenient environment to build their soccer skills and more importantly, getting out and staying fit!
  • WBSA would also like to thank the Wells Branch MUD Recreational Committee!  These members of the Wells Branch MUD Board of Directors, who’ve been there for us ever since youth soccer started up in Wells Branch, offer tremendous support to WBSA.  WBSA would not be able to thrive without their dedication and efforts.  Thank you!

Remember – registration for the Spring 2013 season will open sometime in January, so watch our website at www.wellsbranchsoccer.com for registration announcements!  The website is also a great resource to learn more about the soccer organization and its volunteer opportunities.  We are always looking for your support and talent!

Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you on the fields!
